THC Sour Fruit Tablets – DIY Guide
Welcome to our ongoing recipe development project! We started with the classic Pixie Stick recipe and added some new elements to create something truly special. Our fruit tablets are a tasty and effective way to medicate, with a unique texture that’s somewhere between gum and a powder-based candy tablet. You might compare them to a razzle, but they’re even better. While we’re happy with the results so far, we’re always looking to improve, so stay tuned for updates as we refine our recipe even further. Best of all, our fruit tablets are stable and convenient to carry in tins, making them the perfect choice for on-the-go relief.
Ingredients & Equipment
– 1/2 Cup Cannasugar
– 1/2 Cup Mango Juice Powder (Other fruits may work but it seems “juice” powders work better than freeze dried powders. I will update this after trying some others.)
– 1/2 Teaspoon Citric acid
– 1/4 Teaspoon Malic acid
– 1 Teaspoon Microcrystalline Cellulose
– 1/4 Teaspoon Guar Gum
– 1:1 Everclear (High Proof Alcohol) & Vegetable Glycerin
– Milk Tablet Press
– Sieve
Directions
1) In a large mixing bowl, combine and mix the cannasugar and freeze dried fruit powder before adding the citric and malic acid, microcrystalline cellulose, and guar gum.
2) Strain the mixture through a fine sieve to help homogenize and break up any chunks.
3) Once the mixture is homogenous lightly spray it with the 1:1 Everclear : vegetable glycerin solution until the powder is slightly damp and lightly clumping.
4) Pour the powder into the milk tablet press and lightly tap down the surface. Place the top piece on and hammer 3-4 times. Remove the tablet and place on parchment paper overnight to dry. A fan can speed up the process. At this point the tablets should be a nice firm texture that will survive in a tin. This recipe should make around 70 – 100 tablets depending on how large you make them, the dosage will depend on the potency of the cannasugar used to prepare them.
Notes
The Everclear – vegetable glycerin solution is used as a binding agent to help the tablets from becoming dry and brittle. The idea is that the alcohol helps spread the glycerin throughout the powder mix and then evaporates later leaving an even coating of the glycerin. If you prefer a chewier texture you can try increasing the ratio of glycerin to Everclear.
